Chance Pe Dance made no big difference

Promos of fascinating and technically sound dance of the new heart-throbe of bollywood. Shahid Kapur and cute and bubbly Genelia D’Souza’s flirty connection made the best to promotion of the new release Chance Pe Dance. From a chocolate boy in his 1st film by Ken Ghosh “Ishq Vishq” to a Taurus 8 pack abs in the new revival by the same Director, Shahid has told the world that there is no such thing called “image” coz it can be changed.

The much awaited movie, Chance Pe Dance has hit the big screens today, Friday, January 15 2009. The movie has been directed by Ken Ghosh and the dances are choreographed by Marty Kudelka, the American who has directed the dance steps of stars like Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson and N’Sync. The movie has been produced and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures for Rs. 25 crore.

Not only the cool on screen couple but Mohnish Behl is also playing an important role in the movie. Though the film fails to make places in audiencec’ hearts.

it is a realistic film about strugglers. Shahid plays the role of Sameer aka Sam, a struggling actor who is finding it hard to make ends meet in Mumbai. He juggles various jobs while waiting to get a much needed break in movies. In his struggle for existence he meets Tina (Genelia D’Souza) who is a choreographer.

Just when things are looking good for Sam and he is promised a big break, he is left without a house as he could not pay the rent. Sameer starts living in his old car and starts teaching dance to young kids in a school, who have never won any dance competition. However, the job isn’t that easy, as Sam hates kids and the kids hate dancing.

The director who was to give Sameer a break, decides to choose his hero through a talent hunt. Sameer is all shattered and diverts all his attention towards the kids. After the initial dislike of kids, he develops an emotional bonding with them and helps them win the prestigious inter school dance competition.

Tina persuades and urges Sameer to take part in the talent hunt and finally Sam emerges as a winner and becomes a superstar. Happy Ending as always.

All in all a common story where Shahid has performed quite well and his dance moves are the highlights of the movie.
