As surprising as it might seem, rookie Virat Kohli is the key to India’s success in today’s final ODI against Sri Lanka.

A yet another man from the country’s capital taking charge of the Indian middle order. It was a life time opportunity as he was selected for the Sri Lanka tour in late December and also for the ongoing tri series in Bangladesh. It was the first time that he was given an opportunity to bat up the order and he danced on the chance which resulted in the favour of both him and his captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
After scoring above 500 runs in 6 consecutive matches Kohli has proved himself to be a bonafide team member, and the true successor of the great Rahul Dravid.

almost sealed the deal when they took 86 off the first 10 overs. Then after Karthik got out it was Virat Kohli to take all the responsibility.
Changing India’s tendency of falling one after the other Virat Kohli sticked to the crease with patience and eased the voyage to victory by remaining unbeaten on 71 runs. Virat’s innings was a smart selection of shots as seen in his innings’ wagon wheel and the most satisfying Pull Shot was the shot of the innings.
Team India’s victory on Sunday was also a sweet revenge for its five-wicket loss to the Lankans on January 5 in their first clash of the New Year.
Addressing the media at the post match press conference after he helped India Kohli said he is still under pressure whenever he goes to out bat. “Pressure is there as I am in the early stage of my career. I want to grab every opportunity that comes my way. I got a lot of confidence from the century I scored against Sri Lanka in Kolkata last month. I am in a great form and I want to continue my form but at the same time I don’t want to put myself under pressure by setting goals and targets,” he said.
